THE WIFE OF Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington spoke out for the first time since his tragic death last week.

Talinda Bennington, who was married to the singer for twelve years and had three children with him released a statement to Rolling Stone.

One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero – their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul?

He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice. And now he is pain free, singing his songs in all of our hearts.

May God bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would have wanted us to do so. Rest in Peace, my love.

The volume of fans buying Chester’s music since his death has caused Linkin Park’s albums to surge back into US album charts.

Linkin Park also spoke out earlier in the week:

Our hearts are broken. The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened. You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized.

Earlier this week a singalong in memory of Chester was organized in Fibber’s in aid of Pieta House.

This singalong will be a chance for us to say goodbye to Chester and raise a toast to the impact Hybrid Theory has had on us. It’s a singalong. We’ll be playing Hybrid Theory from start to finish and we want to encourage everyone to sing and shout along to their heart’s content. We know all the words, let’s sing them together.

After selling out, the venue has been upgraded to The Workman’s Club and tickets are only available through a waiting list, which is surely testament to how grateful people are for everything the Linkin Park frontman did for them over the years.
